Acclaimed comedy troupe THE DOG-EARED COLLECTIVE return to the fringe to unleash their latest sketch comedy smack down BAD DOG VARIETY.
The company’s gleefully anarchic style, already likened to ‘The Mighty Boosh’ (Camden New Journal), earned them critical success at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe:
The Dog-Eared Collective leaves no pun unspoken, no sight gag unseen, no entendre left singular in its take-no-prisoners campaign for laughs [...]
More laughs than any other three fringe shows put together
Gerald Berkowitz, THE STAGE on Barnaby Brown: Orphan Extraordinaire
BAD DOG VARIETY is a riotous sketch show where live stunts, comedy and cabaret collide. Join Babs Malloy's Yorkshire & European All-Stars including Signor Love Shark and his puppet Pinky, mystic mind-nester Snaaake and Fantasy Jackson's Sex Gremlin Dungeon Party.
An explosive mix of sharp satirical writing & outrageous physical comedy, it’s a dazzlingly deviant sketch show experience.
The Dog-Eared Collective will be performing at Smirnoff Underbelly at 12.15pm from 31st to 24th August.

Behind the Fringe
Whilst still remaining true to our founding principle of open-access for all performers, the Fringe has come a long way since its organisational beginnings in a disused pub with a leaky roof just off the Royal Mile.
We now sell over 1.6 million tickets worth more than £10m, and employ a year-round full-time staff of 13 which increases to around 120 in August.
If you're looking for the low-down on the Fringe Society itself and the services it provides throughout the year for performers and public, you're in the right place.
On this part of the website you'll also be able to find information on who we are, where we came from and what we're up to...

Fringe: n. established, hedonistic, cutting-edge, challenging, anarchic, innovative, professional, entertaining, global
Last summer, Edinburgh's Festival attracted a paying audience on a par with the 2002 football World Cup in Japan and South Korea; 2.6 million people. The Fringe has become the driving force for this incredible deluge responsible for attracting 50% of all visitors.
As the world's largest open arts festival, the Fringe also grabs headlines. Recent research shows the Fringe gains coverage to the value of £6.6 million in advertising.
The Fringe is inclusive, contemporary and innovative, attracting a young, vibrant and affluent audience spending over £75 million in Edinburgh over the summer.
This assists its partners in influencing this audience by offering bespoke sponsorship packages, which meet key business and marketing objectives:
- a captive market for experimental brand-building
- development and animation of brand values
- positive association with the Arts
- attract positive press coverage
- fulfill CSR and employee engagement objectives
- influence key decision-makers
